Recruitment Applications are invited On-line through the proforma Application to be made available on WEBSITE (www.apspsc.gov.in) from 09/12/2011 to 08/01/2012 for recruitment to the post of GROUP-I SERVICES.
The Commission has dispensed with the sale of applications through HPOs / Sales Counter of Commission’s office. The desirous eligible Candidates may apply ON-LINE by satisfying themselves with the terms and conditions of this recruitment. The details are as follows:

Only 27 Posts out of 214 Zonal posts for Zone V, VI and Multizone III regions
As per APPSC Group I notification, there are 214 zonal posts – out of which only 27 posts are in Zone V, VI and Multi Zone III (Telangana districts).
Fee:
All candidates have to pay Rs. 100/- (rupees twenty five only) towards application processing fee and all those who are not exempted from payment of fee have also to pay Rs. 120/- (rupees one hundred and twenty only) towards examination fee.
Mode of Payment of Fee:
I Step: The Candidate has to logon to the WEBSITE (www.apspsc.gov.in) and enter his/her Basic Personal Details like Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, and Community.
II Step:Immediately on entering the above details the Applicant will get (downloadable)- Challan Form to pay the Fee at AP Online centers /State Bank of India.
III Step:The Applicant should pay the prescribed Fee in any one of the A.P. Online centers / State Bank of India and obtain Fee paid challan with Journal Number in the first instance.
IV Step:On the next working day after payment of Fee the Applicant should again visit WEBSITE and enter the Journal Number to get the format of Application. The applicant has to invariably fill all the columns in the Application and should submit ON-Line. Even after making payment of fee, candidate fails to submit the bio-data particulars, such applications shall be rejected without giving any notice.
V Step: If any candidate fails to enter “Community” for any reason, they will be treated as an OC without giving any notice.
Reservation for local candidates is not applicable as per concerned Departmental Special rules for Pc. No’s. 01 to 18 except PC. No: 19
For Pc.No. 10 State wide Selection, allotment will be Zone wise – I to VI Zones .
For Pc. No. 11 to 17 State wide Selection and allotment will be Multi-Zone I & II
For Pc. No. 18 State wide Selection and allotment will be Multi-Zone I, II, & III
For Pc. No. 19 Zonal Selection with Local Candidates reservation.
For Pc. No. 16 (MPDO): Clarification is awaited regarding Local Reservation).
Educational Qualifications
Post Code 01 to 04, 06 to 08, 10 to 12 & 14 to 19:
A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University in India established or incorporated by or under Central Act, Provincial Act, a State Act or an Institution recognized by the U.G.C. or an equivalent qualification.
Post code 05: A Bachelor’s Degree in B.E. (Fire), provided that if BE (Fire) candidates are not available Candidates with the degree in any discipline will be considered.
Post code 13:
(i) A Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University in India established or incorporated by or under Central Act, Provincial Act, a State Act or an Institution recognized by the U.G.C. or an equivalent qualification.
(ii) Preference shall be given to persons possessing a degree in “Sociology” or “Social Work”.
Post Code 09: A Degree in Commerce OR Economics OR Mathematics of a University recognized by the U.G.C. with at least Second class in the subject OR CA of the UK or India or an Incorporated Accountant (London)
Age:
The candidates should possess the minimum and maximum age as prescribed for each post as on the date of 01/07/2011.
N.B: A Candidate must have attained the Minimum of 18/21 years and must not have attained the maximum of 26/28/34 years as on 01/07/2011
Relaxation of age permissible
  • Retrenched temporary employees in the State Census Department with a minimum service of 6 months: 3 Years
  • A.P. State Government Employees (Employees ofAPSEB, APSRTC, Corporations, Municipalities etc.are not eligible): 5 Years maximum based on the length of regular service.
  • Ex-Service men: 3 years & length of service rendered in the armed forces
  • N.C.C.(who have worked as Instructor in N.C.C.): 3 Years & length of service rendered in the N.C.C.
  • SC/ST and BCs: 5 Years
  • 6. PH: 10 Years
Procedure of selection:
  • The applicants will be subjected to a Screening Test (Objective Type) for the purpose of admitting them to the Main (Written) Examination (Conventional Type). Only such of the applicants who are admitted to Main (Written) Examination will be subjected to the process of Selection, the details of which are given in Annexure-II.
  • The selection of Candidates for appointment to the posts will be made in two successive stages viz., (1) Written Examination and (2) Oral Test in the shape of an interview.
  • The selection to the posts will be based on merit after the Written Examination and Oral marks taken together, duly taking into account the post preferences and other eligibility criteria. In case of Posts/ Services having Multi-Zones/ Zones, Selection will be considered as per preferences exercised.
Scheme of Examination
Screening Test: General Studies & Mental Ability (Objective Type) 150 Questions – 150 marks.
Time: 2 and half hours.
Written Examination: Each paper is conducted for 150 marks and lasts for 3 hours.
General English:
Paper-I. General Essay
Paper-II.
i. History & Cultural heritage of India with emphasis on 20th century history of India.
ii. Social history of Andhra Pradesh i.e., the history of various social and cultural movements in Andhra Pradesh
iii. General overview of the Indian Constitution
Paper-III:
i) Planning in India & Indian Economy
ii) Land Reforms and social changes in Andhra Pradesh after independence
iii) Andhra Pradesh’s Economy, present status its strengths and weaknesses
Paper-IV:
i) The role and impact of Science & Technology in the development of India with emphasis on the applied aspects
ii) General awareness with the modern trends in life sciences.
iii) Development and environmental problems
Paper-V:
i) Data appreciation and interpretation
ii) The candidates will be asked to draw their own conclusion from the data presented in the tabular form in graphical or otherwise
iii) Problem solving – duly structured situation will be presented to the candidates and they will be asked to suggest their own solutions to the problem arising out of situation. Alternatively, they may be called upon to prove the understanding of the situation by answering certain searching questions based on the situation
Note:
  • The number of candidates to be admitted to the Written examination (conventional type) would be 50 times to the vacancies available at material time.
  • The papers except General English may be answered in English or Telugu or Urdu chosen by the candidates. However, a candidate is not permitted to write part of the paper in English and part of it in Telugu or Urdu.
  • Candidates must appear for all the papers in Main examination and Oral test, who qualified for the same. Absent in any of the above will be liable for disqualification.
  • The General English paper is for qualifying one and the standard of this paper is that of S.S.C. The minimum qualifying marks in this paper are 40% for O.Cs., 35% for B.Cs. and 30% for SC/ST/PH. These marks are not counted for Ranking.
