News Update :

That Is The Real Reason For Businessman's Postponement !!

8 January 2012

Mahesh Babu's 'Businessman' is releasing on 13th January worldwide with never-heard number of prints. Just in US, the movie is releasing in 100 theaters. Even many Hollywood low budget and independent films hardly get these many theaters in these days. As Mahesh Babu has tremendous overseas market, the makers are trying to get maximum profits.

When 'Businessman' was postponed from 11th to 13th of this month, initially no one could correctly guess the reason behind it. But director Puri Jagan clarified that they postponed the movie for US audience, because 11th is Wednesday and a working day, people may not prefer to come to the theaters on that day and since 13th is Friday and it is the start of the weekend, it would be best idea to release the movie on that day.

But Puri's reasoning has raised many eyebrows. Because he sounded like he is lacking confidence in his product. Normally, NRIs go to theaters to watch new releases on its first day irrespective of the talk. But if the first day talk is not good, theaters will be mostly empty on subsequent days. As the ticket cost is very high in US, they skip all Average and Flop movies for a DVD watch. So, if 'Businessman' gets released on Wednesday and if it gets bad talk, the movie may not do good business in the first weekend and may end up as a failure. If Puri is really confident on his film, he would have released the movie on Wednesday itself. Now, it looks like, Puri himself is spreading a pre-release talk indirectly.
