A line of kumkum on her forehead contradicts all the rumours of a troubled marriage between Manisha Koirala and Samrat Dahal.
And that is all the info you'll get as far as her personal life goes. "I don't want to talk about it," the actress states flatly. But, perhaps wanting to clear the air about her reported marital woes, she adds, "I have not moved to Mumbai, but I share my time between India and Nepal. I am setting up my new home in Nepal."
Manisha is excited about her Bollywood comeback. "I have recently completed Deepti Naval's "Do Paise Ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane Ki Barish", in which I play a streetwalker. Then there is a Malayalam film directed by Lenin. Actually, these roles suit my age. Now, I cannot think of appearing in mainstream cinema, running around trees wearing frocks," she shrugs, and adds, "I want to carve my career similar to Shabana Azmi's, where the roles should be challenging enough to convince me to face the arclights."
When asked about what she thinks about her contemporaries - Raveena, Karisma, Sridevi and Madhuri - coming back to the silver screen, Manisha says that the film industry has gone through a complete change. "We used to concentrate on the roles then, but now it is size zero that predominates," she rues. Even offscreen, things are different says she. "The other day, I got a call from Tabu, and we talked at length about the good old days. After completing our work, my gang - Pooja Bhatt, Urmilla Matondkar and Raveena Tandon - and I used to hang out together. But now we don't hear of all this. Instead, it's the catfights that are heard of more often."
Manisha also has plans of going behind the camera. Having turned producer with "Paisa Vasool", she says she's now keen to turn director. "Though certain things are still to be worked out, you'll see me as a director very soon," she says.
