While Power Star Pawan Kalyan and Shruti Haasan were on the sets of Gabbar Singh, the actor is reported to have enquired about Kamal Haasan reviving Marudhanayagam. It is rumored that Pawan had told Shruti jocularly that he wants to do a role in Marudhanayagam if Kamal is planning to re-commence the project.

However, sources say that Shruti has told Pawan that she would convey the message to her dad but she is not sure if the project would be revived.
