Movie Review : Let's begin with the interval for a start. Charan (Revanth) confesses his love to Harika (Rajitha) on the banks of Lake Liberty somewhere in New York.
Charan: "Straight ga point ki vachestha, (I'll come straight to the point), I love you," Harika: "I don't have time for love. I only like you as a friend, ippudu love ani cheppi nannu confuse cheyaku (don't confuse me by bringing love in the midst of our friendship)"
Charan: "Nenu matram clear gane unna, neeku ela cheppalo ardham kavtamledu,"(I am pretty clear about my love for you, but don't know how to explain it to you) Harika: "Nuvvu ela cheppina na samadhanamu matram maraudu" (My answer is not changing) Harika walks away dropping the flower bouquet and the camera zooms in on the flowers lying beside Charan's sneakers. Now that's not exactly a "heartbreaking" cinema moment is it? But that's the kind of skill and finesse that " My Heart Is Beating" is made with. Unfortunately the quality of acting is also in tune with the craft.
Here's a little backgrounder. Charan (Revanth) and Harika (Rajitha) are two engineering students who move to the US to pursue their MS. Charan is a happy-go-lucky guy who has a solution for everything. Harika is the typical good girl who's only concerned about her studies. There are some friends and twists in the tale included as well.
Revanth, who looks like an adolescent version of Navdeep without the curly hair in some profile shots, is decent, but clearly has a long way to go. Rajitha's performance falls pretty flat most of the time.
What the film does well is capture some candid moments of college life in the US, but there is some chutzpah missing. There are no punch dialogues, gravity-defying dance moves or heart -rending drama nor is there any novel entertainment value.
