Denying any rift with the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Praja Rajyam chief, Mr K. Chiranjeevi on Thursday said the Congress in the state will be strengthened with the induction of two PR legislators into the Cabinet.
Speaking to newsmen at the PR office immediately after the Cabinet swearing-in ceremony, Mr Chiranjeevi said he had no grouse against anybody.
“I am very happy that the Congress leadership has kept its word to accommodate two of our legislators. I would have been more happy if they had agreed for another berth to accommodate one legislator from Telangana too,” Mr Chiranjeevi said.
When asked whether he is going to become another power centre in the state, Mr Chiranjeevi said, “I don’t believe in such things. The Congress is a force and PR is another force. When two forces join each other, the net result is that the Congress has strengthened further.”
When asked about the resentment among a few PR legislators over selecting Mr Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Mr Ramac-handraiah, he said there was no resentment in the party.
“Both the ministers are well educated. They have political background and experience in administration. Moreover, Mr Ramachadraiah had earlier worked as a minister. There is nothing wrong in their selection,” he added.
Replying to a question he said it is for the Congress high command to decide on how to use his services including permitting his tours.
