These days, the traffic cops are not sparing anybody, including top celebrities of Telugu film industry and politicians, who are caught red-handed while driving their vehicles in the inebriated condition.
Obviously, a sharp rise in the road accidents on account of rash driving and drunken driving has made the police to go on high alert.
On Saturday night, the Jubilee Hills police caught smart actor Siva Balaji (of Arya fame) while he was driving his car in a drunken condition at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan junction in the Film Nagar.
Obviously, the police who had done breath-analyser test on him, found that he had consumed more than the accepted level of booze.
The police did not let off despite Balaji telling him that he was a film actor. They promptly booked a case against him. Following this, the young hero had to plead guilty stating that it was his mistake to drive his vehicle in that condition because his driver was absent. He was asked to appear before the magistrate on Monday and pay the fine.
Recently, another young actor Nikhil and a few months ago, hero Navdeep, were also caught for drunken driving. More recently, Formula One car racer Akhil was also caught driving his BMW in a drunken state near Secunderabad.
Hope celebrities won’t take our traffic cops for granted hereafter.
