India Maritime Week will go through the mélange of sessions and special forums lined up for the happening week. The presence of the maritime community in the national capital will indeed add impetus to mission 2020.
India Maritime Week, co-organized by the Ministry of Shipping, Maritime Gateway, KPMG and Krishnapatnam Port will bring both international and Indian maritime community together to the event of week-long conferences, dialogues, exhibitions, special trade events, social events
in celebration. The range of activities should make government officials, industry, educational institutions, and trade organizations as participants and reflect the vibrancy and diversity of India as a major maritime destination.
India Maritime Week is all poised to provide the right platform for a dialogue with the maritime community to take the mantle forward. The various sessions are a sincere endeavour to bring all the issues to table and look for a way forward for the Indian Maritime fraternity to keep the flag flying high. The Capital hosts Maritime confluence where the industry meets policy makers, where minds meet and discuss matters, where the maritime world congregates for the great cause awaiting Maritime India.

Mohandas, Secretary, Ministry of Shipping said, “India Maritime Week is designed to showcase India as a global maritime hub and to assist our efforts in evolving a cohesive approach in nurturing our ambitions of shaping India into the top maritime nation. This event will derive ways and propel new initiatives in achieving our larger maritime goals.”
This activity is being maneuvered around creating, building and sustaining infrastructural needs of the country through the vision document for the decade. The Maritime Agenda attempts a policy framework to facilitate enhanced private investment, service quality and competitiveness, apart from expansion of capacities in the country. The action plan, aimed to drive towards the goal, will catapult India to the premier league of maritime nations in the world. From the present traffic of 870 million tonnes, a four-fold increase to 2,495 million tonnes by the end of this decade only means mission accomplished.
