News Update :

Family HERO available on daily wages

7 January 2012

“Family hero” Jagapathi Babu, who was once most sought-after actor by the producers and had commanded high remuneration up to Rs 35 lakh a film, has now come to terms with reality.
With age catching up and offers dwindling, Jagapathi Babu has made himself available even to the small-time producers.
After his latest film “Kshetram” that failed to click at the box office, he brought down his remuneration drastically and is learnt to be offering to work on “daily wages.”
Instead of charging lump sum figure per month or demanding share in area-wise collections, Jagapathi Babu has agreed to take Rs 2 lakh per day for whatever number of days his schedule is. If planned well, the producers can complete his schedule in a short period, as short as three or four days.
So, those who make low budget movies can have the privilege of hiring a senior hero like Jagapathi Babu by paying him Rs.4 lakhs for his brief appearances with this price relaxation.
That was how Vignan Chanti could afford to hire him for the film ‘Noothilo Kappalu’. Usually comedians and character artistes collect their charges on daily- basis. Now it is the turn of heroes in Tollywood to fall in their line!
