Chiru’s political move: Own channel soon

6 September 2011

Chiranjeevi is making strategic moves to strengthen his position, after merger of his party in the ruling Congress. He is making plans to keep a special identity for himself and command leadership to a powerful group within the party. He has turned his Praja Rajyam Party office as the platform for making himself a power center in the Congress party.

Chiranjeevi is also making plans to launch a TV channel soon. Anakapalli MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, his close confidant and PRP candidate to Lok Sabha in the previous elections Thota Chandrasekhar would be partners in this channel, it is learnt. Arrangements are afoot to start telecasts of this channel by the end of October. Sources close to Chiranjeevi say that the channel has been named ‘S Channel.’

Several PRP leaders felt during those days that if they had their own channel, election results would have better for the party. Now arrangements are being made to mobilize people on a large scale in the name of Regional Merger Meetings in Visakhapatnam, Guntur and Anantapur. Organization of these meetings has been entrusted to former PRP leaders. There is curious discussion in the political circles on whether Chiranjeevi would be able to withstand the group politics of the Congress party and if his plans to become a power center would succeed.
