Versatile and the most successful director Shankar is celebrating his birthday today.
His directorial debut is Gentleman and it turned out to be the biggest movie of that time. From then there is no look back for the director and his most of the films has been dubbed in Telugu which were well-received by the audiences.
He later went on doing films like Jeans, Premikudu, Bharatheeyudu, Oke Okkadu, Boys, Premiste, Aparichithudu, Sivaji, Robo. All these films turned smash hits and took a special place in Kollywood. Born on 17th August, 1963 in Kumbakonam, Shankar completed mechanical engineering. He is the only director in India to have grossed over Rs 100 crore with his films in India across all languages.
His next project is multistarrer Nanban [remake of 3-Idiots] which has an ensemble cast of Vijay, Jeeva, Srikanth, Ileana D’Cruz, S.J Surya, Anuya, Lawrence, Sathyaraj and others.
He is in plans of making a sequel to Robo and details of this project are yet to be known.
