The CBI sleuths once again searched the “Sakshi” newspaper office premises owned by Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday.
Accompanied by some bank officials, the CBI officials continued their investigation into the financial dealings of the company.
Meanwhile, representatives of the Bharati Cements, another of Mr Jagan’s companies, have appeared before the CBI on Saturday. The CBI sleuths conducted searches in the house of Mr Ranga Rao, ‘Stylish Homes’ director, in connection with the EMAAR case. Earlier on Friday, the CBI sealed the house as it suspected that Ranga Rao had escaped to the USA. On Saturday, the premises was opened in the presence of Ranga Rao’s kin and searched it. The CBI officials were conducting searches in three offices of EMAAR in Delhi and Hyderabad. The CBI has obtained warrants from the High Court for these searches on Friday.
It was alleged that the State government had lost Rs 40,000 crores because of reduction of government share to six percent in the APIIC and EMAAR agreement. The CBI is now investigating into the loss.
